Streaming video platform Hulu has appointed Dan Phillips as chief technology officer and Jaya Kolhatkar as chief data officer as part of the strategic reorganisation to drive content growth.

The new structure has also eliminated the chief content officer role and is now conducting search for the role of head of content partnerships group.

In his new role, Phillips will realign company's technical and product strategy while Kolhatkar will be responsible for elevating Hulu’s customer intelligence, implementing strong data governance and driving a culture of objective, data-driven decision making across the company.

Prior to this, Phillips  led TiVo’s engineering, product and professional services workforce and also held senior executive roles at Uniscape, e-business software company Crossworlds Software and co-founded enterprise software company Metasystems.

Hulu will further organize its content team into two groups i.e. acquired on-demand and live content partners, and  the creative community for Hulu Originals.

Hulu CEO Randy Freer, on the restructure said: “By adding new expertise and capabilities to our executive ranks and creating greater alignment around our customers, we are positioning Hulu to grow more rapidly, innovate more quickly and connect consumers even more deeply with the content they love.”
