Global consulting firm Prophet has acquired digital agency Springbox in an effort to grow in mid-sized markets.

Springbox, based in Austin, Texas, focuses on mid-market companies. Chiaki Nishino, North America regional lead at Prophet, said the deal is part of the company's push to drive business in "high growth regions" like Texas.

"In addition, Austin – like San Francisco and Berlin, where Prophet has other offices – is a dynamic technology hub with a rich pool of talent that supports our focus on helping clients drive their technology powered transformation agenda," said Nishino.

Prophet will look to integrate Springbox's digital strategy and digital experience capabilities into the company's customer insight and design offerings.

Prophet chief executive officer Michael Dunn said: “The C-suite of forward-thinking companies needs to harness the power of digital to change the growth trajectory of their business and make it sustainable.

“The challenge, however, is that few consulting and agency partners have the capabilities to meet these needs. This move accelerates progress toward our goal of building the thinking, frameworks, skills, and team required to help senior executives and companies deliver the digitally powered transformation agenda required to unlock uncommon growth," said Dunn.

Springbox will move forward as Springbox, a Prophet company. Its chief executive John Ellett will continue to run the company from Austin.

Prophet has 11 global offices, including in New York, Chicago, London, Hong Kong and Zurich.
