People on the move including Google, CBS, Fox, Ogilvy and more

This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

BBC 

BBC’s director of marketing and audiences, Philip Almond, will leave the business in the coming weeks to launch his own consultancy. The BBC said his £211,000 a year role will not be replaced. Instead, Kerris Bright – who joined the broadcaster as chief customer officer in June from Virgin – will assume responsibility for his teams, which included its license fee units and CRM.

Ogilvy 

Strategy chief Kevin Chesters has become the latest high-profile departure at Ogilvy UK as the agency's dramatic restructure and staff shakeup continues.

However, across the channel Pierre-Hubert Meilhac joined Ogilvy Paris as managing director - head of PR and influence. 

McCann Health

Sam Taylor has been appointed global business leader for McCann Health's Glaxosmithkline global business. She will be based in the London office. 

VCCP 

Caroline Rawlings has joined VCCP as an associate creative director. Having most recently freelanced for Leo Burnett London, Rawlings will be overseeing a combination of new and established clients.

Dentsu Aegis Network 

Liz Lavelle has joined the Manchester office of Dentsu Aegis Network as chief insight officer, to provide business transformative advice which will enhance the agency’s offering to clients. 

The AA 

James Frost has been appointed chief innovation officer for The AA. The new role will focus on new product development, strategic brand evolution and critical product marketing capabilities and performance. 

Iotec 

Following a sweeping period of change in the business, Iotecchief executive Paul Wright has departed.

Wright’s exit comes amid Iotec’s purchase of native ad service Platform360 and over 30 redundancies in its Plymouth office as it puts focus on the London arm.

FBC Inferno 

Nikki Chapman has joined the agency as head of broadcast, leading the agency's production offering and develop opportunities for Fuel Content, the new content production arm of the FCB global network. 

Wavemaker

Wavemaker has opened an insights and analytics hub in the UK, which will be led by newly appointed general manager for the agency’s L’Oreal account, Christiaan Lette, who has joined from tkm9 Group.

Publicis Groupe

 Chief executive Annette King has revealed her new management lineup, brining inr former Ogilvy UK colleague Jo Coombs as chief operating officer, chief growth officer Anna Campbell and head of talent, Paula Cunnington.

Pearl & Dean

Pearl & Dean has promoted Clare Turner to sales director. She has been at the company for over two-decades, most recently as client services director. 

Grey Europe

Grey Latin America president Eduardo Maruri has been named chief executive of Grey Europe. He has led the LatAm division since 2016 and is founder of Maruri Grey, the company's full-service agency in Ecuador. 

VMLY&R.

VML boss Jon Cook has taken up the role of global chief executive officer following WPP merger of advertising agency Y&R with digital agency VML. He reports directly to WPP head Mark Read.

Omnicom Media Group 

Rochelle Chhaya has been appointed as Omnicom Media Group's chief digital officer for Asia Pacific. In her new role, she will ensure that the group's digital capabilities are matched with strong investment strategies. 

Clemenger BBDO 

Clemenger BBDO has appointed Olivier Klonhammer as national group production director for Clemenger BBDO Melbourne and Sydney’s integrated production departments.

Prior to this, Olivier worked as head of integrated production at the Dutch agency, prior to which he spent 11 years at Wieden + Kennedy working on brands including Nike, EA Games, Heineken, PlayStation and Coca Cola.

McCann Worldgroup Japan

Alex Lopez has been appointed chief creative officer by McCann Worldgroup Japan. Lopez will work with the executive creative directors of McCann's individual agency brands in this newly created position.

In another move, Caspar Ouvaroff has been appointed as president of MRM McCann Japan, replacing Miho Shiozaki. Before moving to Japan, Ouvaroff was senior vice president and group account director at MRM McCann in New York. 

Mediacom

Mediacom has promoted Paul Waller from head of investment strategy for North Asia to chief investment officer for Asia-Pacific. Relocating to Singapore. Waller replaces Simon Broderick who is returning to the UK.

Google 

The head of Google’s global advertising business Sridhar Ramaswamy has departed for Silicon Valley venture capital firm Greylock Partners.

CBS 

CBS has announced the appointment of Richard Parsons as its interim chairman, taking over from Leslie Moonves, who had resigned over a multitude of sexual assault and misconduct allegations.

We Are Unlimited

We Are Unlimited, the Omnicom specialist agency for McDonald's, announced the hiring of Sumer Friedrichs as its chief production officer, replacing Jon Ellis.

In this new role, Friedrichs has oversight over the McDonald’s agency’s integrated production team and leading external and internal production across video and digital. 

Nike 

Former Nike executive creative directors, Keith Crawford and David Odusanya have launched CO-Lab, a Portland, Oregon-based creative agency focused on design strategy for companies. 

Fox 

Marianna Gambilli, is expected to be named the head of ad sales for "New Fox". Gambelli has lead ad sales for Fox News since May 2017. 

R/GA 

R/GA has hired a new managing director for their Portland office. Tara Moss will lead the Portland office in partnership with the existing leadership team to build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients. 

Tremor Video DSP

Tremor Video DSP has appointed Tal Mor as chief technology officer. 

GSTV 

GSTV has hired Scott Pawloski as executive vice president of client partnerships. In this newly created role, Pawloski will manage client partnerships and revenue functions, inclusive of the sales team and activity.

ESPN

Laura Gentile has been named ESPN's senior vice president of marketing, 15 years after joining the company originally in 2003. Gentile and her team will be responsible for developing and managing all aspects of the ESPN brand across all media and building upon a catalogue of creative. 

Bazaarvoice

Ann Kennedy has joined Bazaarvoice as general manager of global data solutions. Kennedy will report to chief executive officer Joe Davis and will be responsible for the overall leadership and product strategy for the company’s data business. 

Chemistry

Chemistry has brought on group creative director, Brittany Riley. In this newly created role, Riley will help lead efforts for Red Bull, The Atlanta Hawks and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. 

Grey Worldwide 

Former Grey Worldwide executive creative director, Rob Perillo, has joined Klunk & Millan Advertising, a full-service integrated marketing agency based outside of Philadelphia. Perillo will lead the agency’s creative team, integrating digital, social, and web design.
