Just Eat has snapped up EasyJet's Alberto Rey Villaverde as chief data officer as the takeaway food delivery marketplace looks to shape up its intelligence capabilities.
From 11 March, he will lead Just Eat’s analytics and business insights and data science teams. This gives him a remit over business information, management information and reporting, as well as artificial intelligence, algorithmic development and machine learning, claims the app.
It comes a month after chief executive Peter Plumb departed the company, to be replaced internally by Peter Duffy.
Duffy said: “Alberto’s expertise will help to position Just Eat as the market leader in data and analytics, as we further personalise our service and deliver our vision of ‘Serving the World's Greatest Menu. Brilliantly.’”
His data could feed into the creative work coming from McCann which secured the newly-unified creative account in January.
Karmarama had previously held the global ad account.
