The British Transport Police has been applauded for a smart Twitter post which capitalised on the series five finale of BBC drama Line of Duty.
Since it first premiered in 2012, the BBC's fictional police show has gained widespread public and critical acclaim, telling the story of corrupt coppers and those who chase them.
On Sunday (8 May) Line of Duty fans across the nation were left shocked at the final scene, which showed character Ryan Pilkington, a member of the notorious organised crime group (OCG), get accepted for training as a student police officer.
Pilkington was the only OCG member left standing, having managed to evade police capture throughout the series, which left him free to infiltrate the police force through an unusual trajectory.
In response to the last episode, which left fans reeling, British Transport Police shared a tweet that assured its followers that its own recruitment process was better than the one depicted in the drama, as its "team follows the letter of the law."
Posted from its 'BTP Careers' account, the message was retweeted 3,200 times and has clocked up 18,539 likes so far.
