People on the move including Vogue, Buzzfeed, Ogilvy, Leo Burnett, and more

This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

Ogilvy UK 

After a tumultuous year for the business, Ogilvy UK’s creative department is readying itself for a new era– hiring Facebook creative Shishir Patel as executive creative director, as well as rethinking how it pools talent to work on client briefs.

Whalar

Influencer marketing platform Whalar has elevated Bob Greenberg to vice-chairman, as part of a wider leadership shakeup.

M&C Saatchi 

Andrew Platt has been promoted to managing partner at M&C Saatchi Performance. Platt was previously head of client services, having joined the agency in April 2015.

M&C Saatchi has also promoted its senior creatives, Dom Moira and Kieron Roe, to creative directors.

Whippet 

London creative agency Whippet has appointed Rebecca Jones as client services director, bolstering its senior team in preparation for a period of growth.

Publicis London 

Chief strategy officer, Dom Boyd, has decided to leave Publicis  London to pursue other opportunities. He joined the agency in 2017 from Adam&Eve/DDB. 

Grey Germany 

Jan-Philipp Jahn has taken over as chief executive of Grey Germany, replacing Dickjan Poppema who announced he was leaving last year. Francisca Maass will head up the creative department as chief creative officer.

BuzzFeed UK 

BuzzFeed UK has named Mark Rogers its general manager. In his new role, Rogers will oversee all business sales and lead the overall growth and success of the operation across Europe.

Vizeum 

Paul Wilson is joining Vizeum as its global chief strategy officer. He joins the agency from Starcom where he was director of strategy, EMEA.

VCCP Media

VCCP Media has hired Tess Hulme as business director and Sophie Gibbons as account director. 

Forward

Forward, Lastminute.com's media arm, has hired Gellan Watt as chief commercial officer. He will focus on innovation, strategy and growth opportunities. 

Neuro-Insight 

The neuromarketing and neuroanalytics company, Neuro-Insight, has promoted Shazia  Ginai to UK chief executive, replacing Heather Andrew who stepped down from the business.

Merkle 

Anne Stagg has been appointed Merkle's vice-president, client services for EMEA. In her new role, she is responsible for the strategic direction of its clients across retail and travel.

Essence 

Essence has bolstered its APAC leadership team appointing two new vice-presidents. James Smyllie will join as vice-president of media planning and Lee Walsh as vice-president of media activation.

AKQA Tokyo 

After two years as managing director, Yoichiro Basso has left the AKQA. Aika Sawai is to be promoted from his role as executive director of delivery and operations to replace him.

M&C Saatchi

Tom Dery, chairman of M&C Saatchi Australia, has decided to retire, after four years at the helm. 

VMLY&R 

VMLY&R Melbourne has appointed two new managing partners; Sarah Bailey and Jon Kenyon. Kenneth Chan has also joined as strategy director.

CHE Proximity

The former director of PwC's media practice, Ben Shepherd, is to join CHE Proximity as its chief media officer.

Leo Burnett

The former FCB Chicago's chief creative officer, Liz Taylor, has joined Publicis Groupe'sLeo Burnett. She has taken a global creative leadership role. 

Engine 

Steve Scutellaro has joined Engine as senior vice-president, group account director US. He was previously group brand director at Pereria O'Dell. 

Match Marketing Group 

Toronto-based Match Marketing Group has made two hired; Rebecca Sander to lead strategic business development and Jason Mota as executive creative director.

Hill+Knowlton 

AnnaMaria DeSalva is to become Hill+Knowlton's global chairman and chief executive, after Jack Martin stepped down at the end of June.

Vogue

Robert Semmer has been named Vogue's vice-president of video. He most recently served as senior vice-president and head of content at Premier Music Group.
