Unruly, the News International-owned video ad tech company, has hired Paul Gubbins as its programmatic lead in the UK.

Gubbins, who has worked at publishers including The Telegraph and Thomson Reuters as well as The Rubicon Project, Millennial Media, Pubmatic and most recently Oath, will be tasked with driving awareness of the programmatic offering of the business across the UK and growing demand side platform (DSP) and agency trading desk relationships.

Having taken up the post in the new year, he will report to Unruly’s EMEA managing director, Jason Trout.

“In an evolving market, they [Unruly] are growing aggressively, building next generation sell side tools for publishers and advertisers in their quest for scaled, trusted and premium video executions. I’m looking forward to helping Unruly shape the outstream narrative for 2018 and beyond,” commented Gubbins on his latest move.

In October, Unruly announced a new generation of leaders with Steve Hayes taking on the CTO role, Ken Suh stepping into the role of COO and Louise Tullin becoming CMO.
