Uber has finally reached a settlement with Google's company Waymo after the latter claimed that Uber stole self-driving technology ideas from it.

As reported by BBC, Uber is now handing over 0.34% of its share which is worth around $245m (£177m) to Waymo.

Back in February 2017, Google company Waymo filed a lawsuit claiming its former employee Andrew Levandowski, who went on to co-found self-driving truck company Otto, which was acquired by Uber for $6000m, had stolen 14,000 documents containing information relating to the core technology used in its autonomous vehicles (LiDAR).

Uber's chief executive, Dara Khosrowshahi said to Waymo: "While we won't agree on everything going forward, we agree that Uber's acquisition of Otto could and should have been handled differently."

Uber was earlier counter sued for $20m by Fetch in unpaid invoices.
