Media agency PHD has announced the promotion of Malcolm Devoy to the newly created role of chief strategy officer, PHD EMEA. Devoy will be reporting to Ian Clarke, president of PHD EMEA and Mark Holden, worldwide strategy and planning director.
Devoy will hold overall responsibility for the quality of the strategic planning offered across PHD’s 47 offices in 36 EMEA countries. His role will seek to further develop the agency's connected network of strategic planning leaders as well provide active strategic planning and consultancy on a number of clients at PHD Global Business. Additionally, he will support business development.
Ian Clarke, president of PHD EMEA, commented: “Malcolm will continue to deliver unparalleled strategic thinking that supports our global and local clients’ business growth. In addition, he will lead the ongoing development and advancement of PHD’s strategic operating system, Source, within our business for our clients.”

Devoy joined PHD in 2012 as strategy director for PHD International (now PHD Global Business) and has worked on clients that include GSK, Unilever and Skoda. Prior to PHD he was head of innovation at Arena Media, and before that, Devoy spent seven years at UK digital agency, i-level.
