People on the move featuring M&C Saatchi PR, Dentsu Aegis Network, Publicis One Malaysia, and more

This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

Clear Channel UK

Clear Channel UK has promoted Chris Pelekanou and Richard Bon in a bid to grow the brands out of home delivery.  

Pelakanou is taking on the role as chief customer officer to ensure the brand engages with both old and new customers, while also working with Clear Channel International. Meanwhile Bon will take on the role as chief revenue officer, following on from his role of commercial director since joining from The Guardian in 2012.

Three Whisky

George Harris has joined Three Whiskey as analytics and technology director, bring over 14 years’ experience in digital and online.

Harris, who began his career at Microsoft, will oversee how the agency conducts research, delivers campaigns and manages business operations.

STV Productions

Nick Johns has been appointed to the newly created role of head of entertainment development as the company hopes to strengthen the department.

Johns first joined the Scottish business in 2014. Gary Chippington, head of entertainment at STV Productions said: “I’m delighted that he’s accepted this new role to help us build on the successes we’ve achieved to date.””

Feed

Matt Lynch has been promoted from managing director to chief executive at Feed as it plans to expand with another office in 2018.

Having started his career at 16 as an interactive graphic designer, Lynch later joined Feed as one of its first employees.

Rakuten Marketing

Anthony Capano has been appointed as Rakuten Marketing managing director Europe.

Glipsa

Mobile advertising technology company Glipsa has appointed Jon Hook as chief commercial officer.

Hook joins from AdColony where he held the vice president of brands and agencies role.

AppNexus

Antoinette Hamilton has been appointed as vice president of diversity, inclusion and community experience.

She joins from L’Oreal USA, where she was assistant vice president of diversity and inclusion.

Iris London

Iris London has appointed Adam Walker as executive producer of moving image in the production team.

With over a decade in film for both traditional and digital channels, Walker brings a wealth of experience after working with clients like Guinness, Mercedes-Benz and Footlocker.

Inews.co.uk

BuzzFeed’s ex-editor in chief Luke Lewis, has been appointed as head of audience development for inews.co.uk.

While at BuzzFeed Lewis also worked as head of European growth and launched Tasty in France and Germany across social networks.

M&C Saatchi PR

M&C Saatchi PR has appointed Julian Cirrone to the newly created role of creative director to lead the strategic and creative department, Create.

Having previously worked as creative director at Lexis, Cirrone has worked with the likes of Harley Davidson, Pizza Hut and Coca-Cola.

Dentsu Aegis Network

Kirstee Macbeth and Ian Martin have both joined Dentsu Aegis Network following signicant business wins.

Macbeth is currently vice president of the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Council and joins the agency with over 20 years’ experience in strategic planning, brand development, and consumer marketing and joins as head of strategy.

Meanwhile, Martin joins from 7stars where he was account director to take on the role of strategy director at Dentsu Aegis Network. 

MC&C

MC&C has improved its adtech, search and digital strategy offering with the addition of three new members of staff.

Joining from DigitasLBI, David McDiarmid will act as director of search, while Luke Ellis, formerly of Mindshare, joins as director of advertising technology. Richard Neil joins from MEC as MC&C's new director of audio visual.

Initiative

The media agency within IPG Mediabrands has appointed Will Anstee to the role of APAC president. He will report to APAC chief executive officer IPG Mediabrands Leigh Terry and Mat Baxter, global chief executive of Initiative.

With more than 25 years industry experience spanning brand work, agency set up, and client management, Anstee joins Initiative from his role as chief growth officer for IPG Mediabrands APAC, leading creative and commercial growth for their network of agencies across the region. 

Ogilvy Sydney 

Jenny Mak has been promoted to the role of creative director, working alongside the agency’s 40-strong creative team, and in close collaboration with planning, digital and strategy, to drive the creative vision for the agency.

AnyMind Group

The group has appointed Akinori Nishiyama as chief human resource officer (CHRO), He will oversee human resource for AdAsia Holdings, CastingAsia and TalentMind.

Publicis One Malaysia

The agency has appointed Lee Tak Shune as executive creative director for Publicis. In his new role, Lee has been tasked with overall creative leadership of Publicis Malaysia as well as responsibilities to selected brands within the agency.

Dataxu

Dataxu, a software provider for marketing professionals, announced the promotion of Tiffany Mosher to chief people officer. In this newly created role, she will expand upon her previous role leading global human resource operations and initiatives for the team of more than 350 employees.

Mosher will continue to report directly to Mike Baker, chief executive of Dataxu, and is based out of the company's Boston headquarters.

Grow

Norfolk, Virginia-based digital agency Grow announced that it has expanded its film and production capabilities with the addition of David Walton Smith as its first head of film, a new role for the company. He will be charged with overseeing all content development and video production for the agency’s clients, which include Google, Spotify, Adidas and Adult Swim.

A multidisciplinary filmmaker and creative, Smith has produced commercials, as well as branded and documentary content, for brands like Google, Volvo, Mass Mutual, Hyundai and Aleve. Prior to joining Grow, Smith was a director and producer at CNN’s branded content division, Courageous Studio.

Clear M&C Saatchi

Clear M&C Saatchi, a global strategic marketing agency, announced the appointment of Adam Garrett as managing director, US. In this executive role, Garrett will hold responsibility for driving the growth of Clear’s business in North America, reporting to global chief executive Damian Symons.

Garrett has held numerous executive leadership and marketing strategy positions at major international organizations and cutting-edge start-ups which include building R/GA’s Consulting practice, Monitor Deloitte, and Prophet. 

Walrus

Walrus has bolstered it’s senior team with Jillian Dressed being named as creative director and Kemi Adewumi as account director.

Dressed joined in 2008 as art director and will now oversee all the creative work for the agency. Adewumi joined the agency from Deutsch NY.

Elsewhere Evan Vosburgh has been promoted to associate creative director.  

Time Out Digital

Carlos Lamadrid has joined Time Out Digital as managing director of global media sales.

Based in New York, Lamadrid will oversee all of the brands advertising, including creative solutions, digital and print.
