383 Project launches RenewBot to help agencies manage hidden project costs and subscriptions

Birmingham based digital experience studio 383 Project has developed and beta launched its own online subscription product, RenewBot, to help agencies keep track of third party subscriptions and recurring costs.

RenewBot provides a centralised dashboard bringing costs for things such as subscriptions, domains, hosting and SSL certificates into one place. A smart alerting system automatically notifies users when it’s time to bill clients and keeps track of when they were last billed, integrating with common office tools such as Slack, SMS and email. RenewBot can also include automatic markup to costs allowing users to assess profit and margin across projects.

Explaining the origins of the product, Sukhi Dehal, founder of 383, said: “After closing down our accounts at the end of the financial year, it became apparent that we had not billed a client for almost £20,000 for hosting and other related costs. Even though we had a process of keeping track of these costs in a spreadsheet, a change in staff and a breakdown in communication meant that we kept incurring costs without these being appropriately billed on. We built RenewBot as a means to solve an big internal issue, and one that we’re finding very common inside other agencies.”

A beta version of RenewBot is now live and 383 is currently working with a small set of beta users to refine the product before a full launch later this year. RenewBot will be available on a tiered monthly subscription plan.

383’s clients include The AA, Hilton Worldwide, Eon and Nuffield Health.
